Lucy Milenje
Graduation: October 2023
My name is Lucy Milenja, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, graduating with a Second Class Upper Division.
I come from a family of three siblings, and growing up, financial challenges were a constant struggle. Resources were limited, making accessing basic needs, including education, difficult. Despite these hardships, I completed my primary education in 2012 and went on to join Bishop Njenga Girls High School, where I earned a B plain in my final exams. I was then admitted to Egerton University, Njoro Campus.
However, my journey to higher education seemed impossible due to insufficient funds. Life was extremely tough, and I was on the verge of giving up. That was when the Kuloba Foundation came to my rescue, offering me a full scholarship that covered my education from my first year through to my final year.
I am deeply grateful to the Kuloba Foundation for making my dream of becoming a scientist possible. Their unwavering support enabled me to stay in school, focus on my studies, and graduate with a Second Class Upper Division (67 points) on October 27, 2023.
During my time at university, I had the privilege of holding several leadership roles within the Christian Union. These included serving as the Praise and Worship Leader, Chairlady of a committee addressing relationship matters, and a Bible Study Leader. These experiences boosted my confidence and helped me build meaningful and healthy relationships.
Looking ahead, my goal is to pursue a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, work as a scientist, and explore opportunities as a businesswoman. Most importantly, I am passionate about giving back — supporting and mentoring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve their dreams, just as the Kuloba Foundation did for me.

KULOBA FOUNDATION
Thank you Kuloba Foundation
I am a graduate student currently pursuing my education in Criminology and Security Studies at Tharaka University, a 4th-year student. I heard of Kuloba Foundation through Madam Annah, who was our deputy principal, and afterwards, from our principal.
I had been having challenges with school fees since my dad passed away, and my mom got married again to another man who abandoned us. I continued to have difficulties until I was introduced to Mr. Bernard of Kuloba Foundation, who helped me pay my school fees from high school to present.
Since I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Criminology, I plan to do Forensic Psychology, which is among the most marketable degrees. I will be doing Psychology of crime, and this will help me achieve my goals.
Apart from academics, I love playing handball, watching football, and reading storybooks. My favorite food is Ugali.
I am very grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
Doreen Mwema

My name is Evangeline Maina. I am from Sinoko Village. I am so grateful for helping me from my first year in high school up to now, I am in my 4th year pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Tom Mboya University.
I first learnt of Kuloba Foundation through Madam Anna, and since then, you have been a big part of my education.
I am from a humble background. My mother, who was our family’s sole breadwinner, passed away, and we were left with our jobless father, who is also a drunkard. That left us with no one to help us. I was about to drop out of school due to of lack of school fees, that is when you came to my rescue. Thank you so much!
I am so grateful that you continued to pay for my tuition, and now I will be completing my university education soon. I look forward to being a teacher after graduation.
Apart from academics, I love playing soccer and volleyball. Those are my favorite sports. My favorite food is rice.
I can’t thank you enough.
Sincerely,
